Company

This folder corresponds to the insuring company for whom estimates and supplements and total loss valuations were generated.

The prompt window within Intellisphere displays the hierarchy of the company as set up and maintained in CCC’s Front Office System.

This hierarchy includes all locations to which data is tied, as well as all locations at levels above the lowest level locations.

Once a report is generated, the user can drill down to lower levels within the Company hierarchy.

Odometer Range

Vehicle Age Group

Vehicle Age Group is a grouping of vehicles based on their vehicle ages.

Categories include the following:

  • Current Yr or Newer Group = where Vehicle Age is less than 1 year
  • 1 - 3 Years = where Vehicle Age is 1 to 3 years
  • 4 - 6 Years = where Vehicle Age is 4 to 6 years
  • 7 Years and older = where Vehicle Age is 7 years and older
  • Unknown Age Group = where vehicle age is unavailable or invalid

Loss CBSA

A Core Based Statistical Area (CBSA) is a geographic area of at least 10,000 people defined by the government that consists of one or more adjacent counties.

The CBSA of the loss vehicle is derived from the zip code used in the Valuation.

TL Input Source

The method used to submit the valuation to CCC.

Condition Format Used

CCC supports several different Condition Rating Formats for valuations that

  • Define for a company how condition ratings can be input when entering a valuation request
  • Define condition baseline for valuing a vehicle
  • Define how condition adjustments display on the valuation response.

There are five different condition formats supported by CCC: E1, E2, N1, N2, and BV. A sixth code, “XX”, is used only when the format submitted does not match the valid codes listed.

Body Category

Manufacturer

Vehicle Manufacturer groups together different vehicle makes based on the global manufacturer.

For example:GM as a manufacturer would drill to vehicle makes such as Pontiac, Chevrolet, etc.

Source

Vehicle Source is essentially the traditional manufacturer country of origin.

Categories include Asian, Domestic, European, and Other.

Examples:

  • Honda vehicle source is considered Asian, regardless of whether the car was actually manufactured in the U.S. or in Japan.
  • Chrysler vehicle source is considered Domestic despite the ownership by Daimler Benz. All Vehicle Source drills to Manufacturers to Makes.

Measure Definition
BV Condition Format A Condition Formats Used. If the condition format is BV, a positive or negative condition adjustment will be included in the base value of the vehicle. The adjustment is based on whether or not the comparable vehicle is a dealer advertisement, dealer inventory, or private advertisement. The condition adjustment is determined based on the overall condition of the loss vehicle as compared to Dealer Inventory (Condition 2), Dealer Advertisements (Condition 2), or Private Advertisements (Condition 1).
DMV Database DMV database of over title records and branded title records used to identify Total Loss VINs that have been identified as Salvage Vehicles, Gray Market, Hail Damaged, Police Cars, Taxi Licensed, Repossessed, Water Damaged, Wrecked Vehicles, Insurance Loss, Motor Changed, Scrap/Unrebuildable Vehicle, Bonded Vehicle, Livery Usage, Broken Odometer, Excluded/Exempt, Suspect Mileage, Not Actual Mileage, Fleet/Rentals, Municipal Usage, Rebuilt Vehicles, Kit Cars, Theft (recovered) Vehicles, Totaled Vehicles, Drivers Education Vehicles, Fire Damage, Junk Titles, Special Constructed, VIN Replaced on Vehicle, Non-Compliance Vehicle, Reconstructed Vehicle, Discrepancy of Mileage, Odometer Exceed Mechanical Limits, and Exempt from Gross Vehicle Weight.
E1 Condition Format

A Condition Formats Used.

  • If the condition format is E1, the base value of the vehicle is equal to a Condition 1 vehicle (Moderate Wear/Average Private).
  • If the comparable vehicle is inventory or a dealer advertisement, a negative dollar adjustment is applied to make the comparable vehicle equal to a Condition 1 vehicle.
  • If the comparable vehicle is a private advertisement, no dollar adjustment is made. The valuation response will include a detailed breakout of the condition rating for each of the different components of the vehicle such as body, glass, tires, etc.
E2 Condition Format

A Condition Formats Used

  • If the condition format is E2, the base value of the vehicle is equal to a Condition 2 vehicle (Dealer Ready/Average Dealer).For example, if the comparable vehicle is a private advertisement, a positive adjustment is applied to make the comparable vehicle equal to a Condition 2 vehicle.
  • If the comparable vehicle is inventory or a dealer advertisement, no dollar adjustment is made. The valuation response will include a detailed breakout of the condition rating for each of the different components of the vehicle such as body, glass, tires, etc.
Loss Zip Code The zip code used in the Valuation. It is the 'Location' in the Vehicle Details section under the Vehicle Information on the MVR. The CBSA and State is derived from the Loss Zipcode.
N1 Condition Format

A Condition Formats Used. •If the condition format is N1 the vehicle is automatically valued as a Condition 1 vehicle (Moderate Wear/Average Private).The loss vehicle uses Condition 1 as the baseline when compared to comparable vehicles.

For example, if the comparable vehicle is inventory or a dealer advertisement, a negative dollar adjustment will be applied to make the comparable vehicle equal to a Condition 1 vehicle. •If the comparable vehicle is a private advertisement, no dollar adjustment is made.
N2 Condition Format

A Condition Formats Used. •If the condition format is N2 the vehicle is automatically valued as a Condition 2 vehicle (Dealer Ready/Average Dealer).

The loss vehicle uses Condition 2 as the baseline when compared to comparable vehicles.

For example, if the comparable vehicle is inventory or a dealer advertisement, no dollar adjustment is made.

  • If the vehicle is a private advertisement, a positive adjustment will be applied to make the comparable vehicle equal to a Condition 2 vehicle.
National Industry This is an attribute in the Industry folder that is used to specify inclusion of National Industry on a report.
Period

The Period folder includes the period attributes available for inclusion on a report.

  • The date the valuation was completed by CCC is used to determine the month in which a valuation is reported.
  • The lowest period resolution that information will be displayed is at a monthly resolution. Data is updated as soon as information for that month is loaded into the summary tables at the close of each week. Once data is received in a weekly load for the following month, Current Month will advance to next month.
  • Other time periods available for reporting include Year and Quarter.
  • Updates to the management information are made weekly. CCC’s Data Warehouse production cycle runs on the weekend and at the close of every month. Once that production cycle is complete, users can access the new data by close of business that following Monday.
PostTax Adjustments

Adjustments made to the value of the vehicle after Sales Tax is applied.

These are generally not items on the vehicle itself, but fees associated with the settlement process.

Typical PostTax items include DMV fees (for title transfer), rebates and the policy's deductible amount.
PreTax Adjustments Adjustments made to the value of the vehicle before Sales Tax is applied. Typical PreTax Adjustments are deductions for prior damage, dealer preparation fees mandated by many states, or after-factory add-on items added to the car such as alarm systems or aftermarket stereo systems.
Refurbishment

Refurbishments are adjustments made to the vehicle to compensate the owner for any improvements made to the vehicle that affect the Valuation Amt.

Examples of these are new tires, new paint, rebuilt motor, rebuilt transmission, and a reconditioned interior.
Tax Amt The total dollar amount for taxes applied to the valuation. Tax reflects applicable state, county, and municipal taxes. 'Vehicular Tax' on the MVR.
